April 2nd was Papaw's (and cousin James') birthday. Jim & Ford got up early that morning, bought a cake and traveled down to Chapel Hill to surprise Papaw at the coffee shop for his birthday! Although Ford was somewhat sleepy and camera-shy, Papaw was so surprised and loved sharing his birthday with his special "coffee club" friends, Mr. Eddie & Mr. Johnny. Ford is particularly fond of these two gentlemen as well!
We had a wonderful, albeit chilly, time at the Nashville Zoo during their annual Easter Egg Hunt. We've never seen so many colorful plastic eggs and creative Easter baskets in our lives! There were hundreds of two year olds that participated in the morning hunt. You could pick up as many eggs as you wanted and then exchange them for a goody bag! Although it was very cold that morning, we had a wonderful time!
Ford also enjoyed getting a SpiderMan watch in his Easter basket - along with as much chocolate as he could stuff in his mouth!
Ford decided to listen to "Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail" Easter morning before we left for church. This beautiful lavendar bunny was a gift last year from our special Uncle Doyle and Aunt Betty in Arkansas! Although one ear doesn't flop up-and-down like it used to....he stills plays that wonderful song and Ford just loves it! He also loved his sweater vest that was a gift from cousins Adam & Evan! They have wonderful taste in clothes!
And of course, no trip to the Zoo would be complete without a ride on the tire swing! The Zoo recently remodeled their playground and it is the BEST!
