Update on Mary-Kaylin!!

Mary-Kaylin had an appointment this morning with a world renowned neurosurgeon, Professor Yasargil. Professor is sure that the tumor is slow growing and that Mary-Kaylin could live a lifetime with no problems! They will continue to watch it with MRIs every 3-6 months to watch for growth. Please continue to pray for Mary-Kaylin that this tumor will not grow or better, just completely goes away! God is so good!

Happy Birthday Justin!

Ford has made several wonderful friends at Kindercare during the past two years. One of the friends that he has been in class with from the first day is Justin! Justin just turned three and Ford was so happy to attend his birthday party this weekend! He was especially excited about all the Handy Manny items in his gift bag!
Here are the kids having a break and eating pizza after an hour of playing hard on the rock climbing wall, slides and play house! Happy Birthday, Justin!

A Big Boy Bed

Our Saturday started out in a big way - with Papaw setting up the bed he made for Ford! Papaw is so talented and has made several pieces of furniture for our household. Ford was so excited to see the bed that was made especially for him and was even more excited to help Papaw put it together! Ford loves power tools and actually helped bolt the bed together!

Ford was thrilled to spend his first night in his "big boy bed" and it made me so happy to see our little boy sleeping in a bed that my Dad made!
This picture shows the finished product - as well as a night stand that my Dad made for me in January of 1976 when I was almost five years old! I have moved that night stand many times in my life and am so pleased that my son is now using it, along with the bed his grandfather made him! He will hopefully have these two pieces of furniture for the rest of his life! Thanks Dad!!

We love the library!

We visit our local library every week to stock up on books and videos about big machines, Winnie the Pooh, Bob the Builder and fire fighters (of course!). But this past Saturday we made a trip to the downtown library for a marionette show about a clever spider named Anansi. Ford loves the library and really enjoyed his first puppet show! He also loved the unique handmade chairs outside the Children's Theatre and the kid-sized green leather couches! Remember to support your local library!!

Fire Fighters Galore!

Ford LOVES anything related to fire fighters. So Jim found a set of eight fire fighter action figures....with accessories like you wouldn't believe....on eBay and surprised Ford with it tonight! Ford was in awe and had the best time "putting out fires" with all of his action figures!

He can't get enough of fighting fires. Ms. Rebecca, his daycare's Assistant Director, made a fire truck out of a big box at school and Ford thought it was the best thing in the world to play in! He wears a fire fighter's jacket and hat from his class dress up bin every day and even got to participate in a real fire drill at school last week!
